Infrastructure people, building the CDN we wanted
NordicCDN is a European edge network run by a small team in Copenhagen. We spent years operating data centres and hosting platforms, got tired of how complicated the alternatives had become, and built this instead.
Every fast site was solving the same problem twice
We kept meeting the same situation. A perfectly good website, running on perfectly good hosting, taking two seconds to show anything — because every visitor triggered a full rebuild of a page that had not changed in a month.
The fix has been well understood for twenty years: cache the finished page, serve it from somewhere near the visitor. But actually getting there meant a caching plugin that fought the theme, a CDN configured by hand, an image service, a separate WAF, and a monthly bill that arrived in pieces. Each part worked. Together they were a project.
So we built the whole path in one place, with presets instead of a configuration marathon. Point your domain at us, pick what your site is, and it is fast. That is the entire product thesis.

Five things we decided up front
These are the calls that shaped the product. They cost us money in places, and we are keeping them anyway.
European by default
We are a Danish company under European law. Account data, billing and analytics live in the EU, and customers who need traffic to stay inside Europe can pin their zone to European edges. GDPR compliance should be the starting position, not an enterprise add-on.
One price, no upsell ladder
Pay per gigabyte, with 25 GB free every month. Firewall, image optimisation, compression, analytics and SSL are included, not tiers. We would rather you paid us for the traffic than for permission to use a checkbox.
No plugin, no SDK, no code change
Everything happens at the edge, on the finished HTML. That means no plugin conflicts, no build step, and nothing extra running on your server — and it works the same whether you are on WordPress, Shopify-style custom code, or something written in 2009.
Short log retention, no ad tracking
Raw request logs, the only ones containing IP addresses, are deleted after seven days. We do not profile visitors, we do not track anyone across sites, and there is nothing here to sell. Our marketing pages do not even set a cookie.
A human answers the email
We are small enough that support is the engineers. If something breaks at 2am, the person replying is someone who can actually fix it, not someone reading from a script.

Mads has worked in IT — mostly hosting — since he was 16. He took an early stake in a SaaS company and helped grow it through to its acquisition by Visma, has built and run data-centre networks, and served as CTO of a Danish data centre. He started NordicCDN to make fast, secure infrastructure simple to use.
The rest of the team comes from the same world: hosting, networking and operations. Nobody here has to be told what happens to a site when the origin falls over on a Friday afternoon.
Our own metal, our own network
We are not reselling someone else's CDN with a new logo on it. We operate the edge servers, the routing, the certificate pipeline and the analytics store ourselves — which is why we can fix things instead of filing a ticket with a supplier.
Bare-metal servers with NVMe cache, in data centres we chose, running software we wrote.
metalBGP announcements and authoritative DNS we operate, so routing decisions are ours to fix.
BGPPage translation runs inside our own network. Your content is not handed to a third-party API.
